Amos & Ivey

We had a wedding shower yesterday for these two gems,

I have a rough time at showers.

Why?

Lemme tell ya.

The shower is going along beautifully, with baby bits of awkwardness, games, and good food. Then it happens.

The sharing  begins.

I’ve told you here how terrible I am at public speaking, so you should understand why this is so hard for me!

I go up there and immediately freeze, all thoughts leave my mind and I start mumbling words like the mentally insane.

Another tendency of mine is for the whole speech to suddenly become, “The thoughts and woes about my life,” I didn’t want that to happen so I’ve decided to take the dweeblet way out again,

Basically what I’m getting at, is that it’s time for me to write another letter…

Dear Amos & Ivey,

CONGRATS! I am thrilled for the two of you and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for the future!

Well, I guess I should start with you Amos, I remember the first time I met you. I was about five years old and my first impression of you was, “this guy’s a little weird.” However as my family got to know you better, my opinion of you definitely changed. It says a lot about a person if they can live with the Fox family and actually survive. Not only did you survive but you stayed friends with us even after you moved out (right? :)) my respect grew for you when I saw how you handled yourself even when my family and I were torturing you! And if I may say this, I count you as my brother and I love ya man!

Ivey, I could not have picked a better person for Amos! I wrote in my journal after that first acting class and said something along the lines of, “I LOVE my new teacher, Ivey Huey.” As I got to know you a little better I not only liked you, but I wanted you in my family, and if one of my brothers wouldn’t work out, then Amos was next in line. I’m so glad you’re getting married and please take care of my almost brother. 🙂

Well, I’m sorry I didn’t say this in person but I wanted to make sure that what I told you two was something I had thought out beforehand.

I love you both very much and I can’t wait for you big day!
